Eagle Claw specializes in the production of American made fish hooks, and is owned by the Wright & McGill company. The idea of the Eagle Claw hook came in 1920 when Drew McGill noticed how effortless it was for an eagle to catch fish in its talons mid-flight, along with the way it could puncture a piece of wood that it had landed on. From then on McGill bent all his hook tips to resemble an eagle's talon, and made them razor sharp.

Eagle Claw was officially registered as a company trademark in 1948, In 1985 they introduced the Lazer Sharp line of fish hooks. In 2009 the Lazer Trokar line of hooks was introduced, and today, Eagle Claw remains one of the top fish hook manufacturers in the world, and is the only one in the USA.

Eagle Claw is headquartered in Denver, CO.
